Your privacy is extremely important to us. We never sell or rent your personal information to any third parties under any circumstances. No legalese required - it's that simple!

Security Top
As part of our effort to protect your personal information, including your credit card information, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This means, if your browser supports SSL (most do), your personal information will automatically be encrypted before being sent over the Internet.

ScoutDerby.com and ScoutRentals.com have also obtained a digital certificate from GeoTrust, a leading provider of Internet security services. When you enter a secure area of our site, a closed lock symbol or solid key should appear in the window's bottom bar. Clicking on that lock or key symbol will show you the certificate details. You can also click on the GeoTrust logo at the bottom of our Home page to see the certificate details.

As an additional security measure, we encrypt your credit card number in our database. Obviously, we must keep customers' credit card numbers until charges are complete. However, credit card numbers must be unencrypted immediately before charges are processed. If our database were ever breached and sensitive credit card numbers stolen, they should be virtually useless without our proprietary encryption routine. All credit card information is deleted from our database as soon as transactions are settled.

Ordering Credit Card Top
We want you to reserve your event early and we recognize the problem that may create with credit card payments being charged so if you select credit card payment during reservation checkout, your card will be charged no more then 72 hours before your scheduled event. Please be aware of our Credit Card Hold Charge policy and understand how that my affect your credit availability on that card until the hold charge is released.

Credit Card Hold Charge Top
The Credit card you provide during checkout must have enough available credit to place a Hold Charge for the full replacement cost of the reserved merchandise. The full replacement cost of each item and the Hold Charge amount will print on your invoice. Hold Charges minus any Cancellation, Damage, Late Check-In, Unreturned Merchandise or Pick Up No-Show fees will be released within 72 hours of the merchandise return.

If you select Pay by Check during checkout or call to set up your reservation, a credit card number is still required. This is strictly a measure to protect our investment in quality merchandise. The Credit Card Hold Charge will reserved on this card. Also, any Cancellation,, Damage,, Late Check-In, Unreturned Merchandise or Pick Up No-Show fees may be charged to this credit card.

Cancellation Top
You may cancel your rental 2 weeks or more before your event and pay no cancellation fee. if you cancel within 2 weeks of your event date, but at least 48 hours before pickup, a cancellation fee of $15.00 will be charged to the Ordering Credit Card. Any cancellation within 48 hours of your scheduled pickup time will be subject to full charges since the likelihood of renting it at that late time is slim.

Damaged Merchandise Top
All merchandise will be inspected upon return for any damage beyond normal wear and tear. Any noted damage beyond normal wear and tear will be assessed a damage fee. Any damage fees not paid at the time of return will be charged to the Ordering Credit Card.

Late Merchandise Check-In Top
As with all rental business, merchandise check-in is critical! Merchandise must be returned on time to be available for the next event. If you are late, there may be no merchandise available for someone else and their event will be ruined. Think how you would feel if you arrive to pick up your rentals and it's not available because the previous renter still has it!

Unless special arrangements have been approved prior to check-in time, a late check-in fee of $15.00 will be assessed as long as the merchandise is returned within 1 hour of the due time on the due date. Merchandise returned more than 1 hour late will be charged full rental fee for each day the merchandise is late and cannot be rented for another event. Any late check-in fees not paid at the time of return will be charged to the Ordering Credit Card.

Unreturned Merchandise Top
Merchandise will fall under the Late Check-in Policy until check-in fees equal the amount of full replacement cost as printed on your invoice. If you fail to return the rented merchandise before this happens your Credit Card Hold Charge will convert to a regular credit card charge in order to replace the merchandise and the merchandise is yours to keep.

If this happens and you still want to return the merchandise, we will consider buying it from you upon inspection and negotiating a price.

Pick Up No-Show Top
If you fail to pick up your rented merchandise at the arranged time, full rental charges will apply and the Ordering Credit Card will be charged the amount shown on the invoice.
